FAQ

What does a Reflexology treatment involve?

On the first visit we will have a consultation where we will talk about your past and present health.

You will receive a foot bath with epsom salts and peppermint oil to commence relaxation detoxification.

Following this 5-10 minute soak, you will lay on a massage table and I will do a foot inspection, followed by some warm ups to loosen the ankles and increase the blood flow. I will offer you a blanket as you might experience temperature changes in the body. I will cover your feet with a towel as to keep them warm at all times.

I will do some Reflexology techniques to stimulate, soothe and relax all the reflexes of the feet paying special attention to the areas where congestion or discomfort is found. I will use a gentle, scent free lotion that has some pure tea tree oil added into it to aid healing any skin problems.

Having been trained in both traditional Reflexology and Thai Reflexology, I may apply both modalities to suit the treatment needed. I offer
individual treatments that may vary from person to person depending on the need.

Please note that each treatment can differ in time depending on the individual's needs.

How many treatments will I need?

It is not realistic to expect that problems that have been present and developing over many years can be solved with one treatment. Everyone is individual and some people respond to reflexology more quickly than others.

Most people notice an enjoyable rejuvenation and relaxation after the first treatment. But several treatments will treat specific ailments. Because Reflexology can never harm the body, more is better.

The more treatments one receives the more the body will be able to heal itself. I recommend coming once a week for 4-6 treatments to notice major improvements and then to continue treatments every other week to maintain positive results and proper balance.

How will I feel after a treatment and are there side effects? What are the benefits of Reflexology?

It is important to remember that everyone responds differently to their treatment. Some people fall asleep and because of this you might feel a little "groggy" or light headed. But most people feel thoroughly relaxed. You should experience calm and a feeling of well-being, as stress and tension are relieved, blood circulation is improved, your immune system is strengthened and lymph drainage improves with your body being in a more balanced state. Deep relaxation, improved sleep, and a sense of balance within the body are some extra benefits to be felt with Reflexology.

On occasion some people sense slight upset stomach or exhaustion due to toxins being pushed and stagnant energy being moved, this is called the "healing reaction". This will not last long. Others experience emotional release. These symptoms will lessen with subsequent treatments. It is very important to drink as much pure water as possible to help the healing process after each treatment.
