What is Reflexology?  The Science :

Reflexology is a "hands on",  holistic, non-invasive, therapy based on the same principles of chinese accupuncture.   The therapist uses their thumbs and fingers to apply pressure to a client's hands, feet or ears.   Reflexology is classified as a bodywork modality in the field of Complimentary and Alternative Medicine.  Reflexology can be used as a Therapeutic treatment for a full range of conditions, including back pain, sports injuries, migraines, and arthritis. This type of therapy is even said to be effective in treating infertility, digestive disorders, hormonal imbalances, and sleep disorders. Furthermore, many believe it to be particularly helpful in the treatment of a full range of stress-related conditions. However, it is not a cure for medical conditions or diseases.

How does Reflexology work?

Reflexology's history dates back to thousands of years ago.  It can be found in almost every culture around the world.  Reflexology is a non-invasive, natural healing art based on the theory  that there are reflexes in the feet, hands and ears that correspond to every part, gland and organ in the body.   There are more than 7200   nerve endings in each of the feet which have extensive interconnections through the spinal cord and brain with all areas of the body.   Reflexology is based on Zone Therapy and Chinese Meridian Theory.

Reflexology can break up deposits of toxins and move stagnant energy and blockages.  Reflexology reduces stress by putting the body into a state known as "parasympathetic" mode of the nervous system.  At this point the body can re-balance its self-healing potential.

Reflexology also releases endorphins which produce calming and euphoric sensation.   By stimulating the nerve endings in the feet, hands and ears, we send messages along the nerve pathways to the various organs.  Reflexology improves blood and nerve supply to all areas of the body, stimulates the lymphatic system which boosts the immune system, improves circulation to aid in elimination of excess waste products and fluids, increases oxygen from the lungs to all tissues and promotes natural function of the body.

What are the benefits of Reflexology :  Reflexology creates relaxation from the moment that the therapist starts to work on the feet as research shows studying brain activity.  It improves blood and oxygen flow, reduces pain,  reduces stres.  Reflexology promotes natural healing, aids in post operative recovery.   Helps women in easing pregnancy, delivery and post-partum effects.   Reflexology stimulates circulation, and promotes balance while restoring energy.  With Reflexology you can experience a more restful sleep, better elimination and feel healthier.

Reflexology is treating an existing imbalance in the energy of the body.

There are few other therapies that treat the whole body in such a gentle, non-invasive manner which has no adverse side-effects.  Reflexology simply encourages the body to heal itself."  This is a gift you can give to yourself  and bring wellness to your sole !
